Setting Preferences before editing in Audacity

Preferences must be set BEFORE you open the audio file in Audacity

1. Go to Edit> Preferences> Quality

Make the Quality settings match these:



2. Go to Edit> Preferences> Interface and check the MP3 export BIT RATE under . The settings should match as shown below





3. Finally check the Project Rate at the bottom left corner of the Audacity window. It should
read '44100'. To change it, click it (a menu will open).

Your finished MP3 output file will be 44.1KHz, 16-bit, mono.
