Sorting
Search Results
On
searching for a particular information while browsing, lists of
information as search results are displayed. Relevant information can
be searched by using right keyword, symbols and operators. The
information can also be sorted based on the country from where it is
published, time of publication, type of publication etc. Browser
provides search tools to perform this and using these tools one can
sort the results based on time (date), country, type of information
etc. On searching something through the browser, by default the
information published by the country from where the search is
executed are displayed (In our case, it will be India).
Sorting
results based on Time:
For
searching some information published during a particular time period,
one can use the tool ‘time’ provided under the search tools.
After typing the keyword in the search bar, click on the option
search tools and a list appears as shown below.
In
the list, click on the option ‘Anytime’ , a list of options will
appears from where the required time period can be chosen. By default
‘Any time’ is selected.
For
example:
To
search for the topic earthquake in india, type earthquake in India on
the browser and observe the results. It gives information on the
earthquakes in India of all times.

on the same topic but that were published in the past one year, click
on the search tools and select the option ‘Past year’ (as shown
below) from the time list
The
information listed gets changed by listing only the information
related to earthquakes that were published in past year as shown
below excluding the older information. Check for the date of
publication from the date displayed as shown below.
Now
suppose, to specify a time interval manually (i.e, a specific time
period) then select ‘customize range’ from the options and enter
the dates in the window that appears.
