2) How to create an e-mail account

Step by Step creation of e-mail account

An email address is required to receive an electronic mail by the user over the internet. There are many free email providers on which an email address can be created such as: gmail , yahoo mail, mail.com, zoho mail, yandex mail etc.

The following are the steps to create an email account using gmail:

Step 1: Go to URL https://www.gmail.com.

Step 2: Click on "create account” link.

Step 3: After that the user would be redirected to the Sign In form, as shown below:

Step 4: Fill in the name and surname.

 

Step 5: Choose any desired email address. While creating a username, there are some rules to be followed, such as, only letters , numbers and period can be used. Special characters cannot be used.

 

Step 6: Check the availability of the username was entered in the above step. This is done since the username has to be unique for each user.

 

Enter available username.

Step 7: Create a strong password for the email account. The password should be at least 8 character long, with at least one capital letter, one special character (e.g. @, &,*,!) and alpha numeric character.

Now, enter the password again to confirm it.

 

Step 8: Fill your DOB, Gender, Mobile no. and current email address (if any).

Step 9: This form will predict automatically your location.

 

Step 10: Then click on "Next Step" Button given just below.

Step 11: After this a dialog box "Privacy and Terms” would be displayed, stating all the term details of gmail.

Step 12: If “Cancel” is clicked, the process would end and the email address would not be created. After clicking on " I AGREE " button you would be redirected to the Phone Number verification page.

Step 13: It contains two method of verification.

1. Text message (SMS) – In this method will send "Verification Code" on the mobile no. which was provided while registration process. (Step 8)
2. Voice Call – In this method a call would be made on your mobile no. which was provided while registration process, for verification. The verification code that is to be entered would be told on the call.

Step 14: Enter the verification code and click on "Continue" button. The user would be navigated to the "Welcome Page", as shown below:

Note :- This page shows that your Email account has been successfully created. 

 

Step 15: Click on "Continue to Gmail" button. The Gmail Account Dashboard would be displayed as shown below. This is the email account created successfully by the user and now can be used to send/receive emails.
