                                         Selection of Colour

Colour can be selected by clicking on the submenu 'colors window' under the menu 'color'.

When clicked, a colour window opens with six tabs as shown below. The window can be resized by placing the cursor on the edge of the window and when the bidirectional arrow is seen, by clicking and dragging the arrows to the required size. The newly mixed colour can be added to the favourites by click on the star icon at the bottom

The windows that opens when each tab is clicked is shown below
  1. HCY (Hue and Chroma) wheel : All the color on the circle have the same lightness intensity ( Y ) nearest of human color perception. Colours can be chosen by dragging the slider.
  2. HSV (Hue and saturation) wheel : It dependents on the RGB value and screen device. Colours can be chosen by dragging the slider.
  3. Palette - Compatible and easy to select. New colours could be added to the palette from other tabs using the below shown icon at the bottom of each tab. Colours can be chosen by clicking on the colour in the palette.
  4. HSV (Hue and saturation) triangle:
Select the colour by clicking anywhere on the colour wheel (outer ring). The white line on the ring indicates the chosen colour as shown above. Lighter or darker shade of the chosen color can be selected by clicking on the colour in the inner triangle. The small circle inside the triangle shows the selected shade of the selected colour as shown above.
  1. HSV (Hue and saturation) cube: It is displayed in the form of the square. It can be rotated to have a cubical view. Colours can be chosen by dragging the slider. This helps in selecting colour by making changes in Hue, saturation or brightness/value of a colour.

  1. Component slider: It has two sets of slider -RGB and HCY. Under the RGB, the three horizontal bars represent red, green and blue colour components. R, G and B sliders can be moved individually by placing the cursor above the vertical line and sliding it. Under the RGB colour model, any colour has a mixture of Red, green and Blue colour components. So by moving the sliders, red, green and blue colours are mixed in a certain proportions to yield a new colour. This new colour is reflected in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
