6) Constructing a Composite Image using Special Polygons using GeoGebra

Constructing a Composite Image using Special Polygons using GeoGebra

To recall, till now we have learnt and practiced to construct rectangle, parallelogram and isosceles triangle with the given measurements.

Now let us draw a house as shown below.

This  picture  can be drawn by using some tools in GeoGebra by following the steps as explained further.

Open a GeoGebra file.

Construct a rectangle with a given or desired measurement.

Then, construct a parallelogram as a side wall of the house, like shown in the picture given below.

Construct an isosceles triangle with some required measurement as shown step by step in the pictures given further.

Construct a parallelogram with some required measurement as shown in the picture.

Next, draw the parallelogram by selecting 'Polygon' from the toolbar

Construct  a rectangle as a door of the house, with the required measurement.

Then, click on a point to begin creating window of the house.
And, draw a line segment with the required measurement.
Next,
Go to the toolbar and select 'Regular polygon'.

After this step, click the left side point of the line segment that is already drawn for constructing the window and drag it up to the other endpoint of that line segment.

Then, a box will appear on the screen. Fill the number of sides in this box to get the desire shape of the window. After this, draw the polygon by joining those four intersecting points.

Observe the output as given in the picture below.

To get the outline of the house, all the lines and points should be hidden. For this, follow the steps for hiding objects which  have  been already practiced.

Now the outline of the picture is ready. To color it, follow the steps for coloring a picture which have already been practiced earlier.

Here is the picture after colouring.

After completing this, just save it, as we generally do.
