Online Repositories
There are many online repositories having collection of e-resources of different types. Some of the online resources are Youtube, Flickr, Instagram, slideshare, etc. But not all the contents available in these repositories are free. You need to use Creative Commons to filter contents where reuse is allowed.
A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of the copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of a copyrighted work.
A CC license is used when an author wants to give people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that they have created.
To open creative commons website type www.creativecommons.org in the browser
Click on Search the Commons
It will take you to the page with list of online repositories
For instance, you would like to get videos on Solar System on Youtube, follow the given steps :
Step 2: Type Solar System in the Search query Field and uncheck use for commercial purpose and click Youtube Videos.
It will display the list of videos which could be reused on Youtube.
Note that Creative Commons will automatically filter the videos which are with Creative Commons Licensing.
If you would like to get the pictures of solar system on Flicker, Go back to the main page of creative commons,
Typer Solar System in the search query field, Uncheck use for commercial purpose and click Flicker.
The Results page will display images of Solar System which could be reused on Flicker.
If you would like to get the pictures of solar system in Google Images, Go back to the main page of creative commons,
Typer Solar System in the search query field, Uncheck use for commercial purpose and click Google Images.
The Results page will display images of Solar System which could be reused from Google Images.
Note that Creative Commons will automatically filter the images which are labelled with non commercial reuse with modification.
