Adding narration to a video

Step 1: Importing an video file to open shot editor
1. Click File > Import Files ( Or click  button )

2. Navigate to the audio file(s) you want to import, and select them. If you want to select multiple files you can press the Ctrl key and select each file you want to import.

3. When you have all the necessary files selected click the Add button.


When your files are imported into Open Shot they will be listed in the left pane.

Step 2: Adding video clip to the timeline
To add the video clip to the timeline, drag and drop it to timeline. The video clip will appear in the timeline as shown below:


Step 3: Adding narration to the video
1. Adding narration to video without a audio:
Narration only gives the real meaning to a video. Good narration will enhance the effectiveness of the video. If you have a video which does not have audio, you can enhance that video by adding an audio narration.

Audio can be recorded with the help of a recording devices such as microphone, laptop or mobile phone. Then recorded audio file can be saved in a specified folder in the computer. Follow the following steps to add an audio to a video which does not have any audio.
1. Click File > Import Files (Or click + button )
2. Navigate to the audio file(s) you want to import, and select them.
3. Drag and drop it (them) to the time line.

4. Adjust the audio track in such a way that the audio should coincide with the video.

To make the video more interesting and , meaningful, you can add music or sound effects in the similar manner.

2. Adding different narration to video which has audio
    You can add different narration to a video which has audio already. For example,if audio of a video is in foreign language and you want to remove that audio part and add the audio in your regional language, you can do that using openshot editor. For this you have to follow the following steps.
1. Mute the audio part by clicking on the speaker icon located on the clip. This will mute the audio for this clip.

If you want to mute the audio for the entire track, click the speaker icon on the track.


2. After muting the audio present in that video, you can add different narration by following the steps explained before.
