Basic
editing of video
After
recording the video using any of the devices, it need to be imported
to a video editor to clear up the video clip for usage. Openshot
video editor can be used for editing the recorded video. Tools
required for doing basic editing is found in edit tool bar as shown
below:
The
edit tool bar has the following tools

Moving
a Clip
-
Click on the 'Select Mode' (This is the default mode and shown as number '2')

Click on a clip and drag the clip to a new position on the timeline, and drop it.
Trim
a Clip
-
Click on the resize icon (Shown as number '4').

Move the mouse cursor over the right or left edge of a clip.

Drag the edge of the clip to the required position to trim the video.
Slice
a Clip
-
To cut a clip into 2 pieces, click on the Razor icon (Shown as number '3').

The mouse cursor will change to a dotted line.

Click on a clip at the point you want to cut / slice it. And the video gets splitted.
Duplicate
Clip
To
duplicate an item, right-click on the item (such as a clip or
transition), and choose Duplicate.
This
will add an exact copy of the duplicated item to the timeline. The
duplicated item can be moved to the required position
