Deleting Audio Segments
Once the audio file which has
to be edited is imported and saved as a new project, the file is
ready for editing. As you can see in the screenshot below the audio
file is of one min duration.
1. Check whether the cursor
is under selection mode. If not click on the Selection tool
2. Now to delete something,
first play and observe which section of the wave form needs to be
deleted. Once you know which part or section of the wave form is to
be deleted, click on it, hold and drag to select the section.
3. You can then zoom in the
selected part of the audio track to make more precise changes to the
selection (the timeline now shows markings for every 1 sec compared
to the 5 sec markings in the original audio track)
4. Then press delete key on
the keyboard.
(Note: The player must be
stopped, not paused, or else this will not work)
5. As you can see in the
screenshot below, the audio file now is not of 1 min duration but has
been reduced to 55 sec.
If you make a mistake, hold
Ctrl key and press z to undo the changes.
