8) Deleting Audio Segments


Deleting Audio Segments


Once the audio file which has to be edited is imported and saved as a new project, the file is ready for editing. As you can see in the screenshot below the audio file is of one min duration.



1. Check whether the cursor is under selection mode. If not click on the Selection tool


2. Now to delete something, first play and observe which section of the wave form needs to be deleted. Once you know which part or section of the wave form is to be deleted, click on it, hold and drag to select the section.

3. You can then zoom in the selected part of the audio track to make more precise changes to the selection (the timeline now shows markings for every 1 sec compared to the 5 sec markings in the original audio track)

4. Then press delete key on the keyboard.

(Note: The player must be stopped, not paused, or else this will not work)

5. As you can see in the screenshot below, the audio file now is not of 1 min duration but has been reduced to 55 sec.


If you make a mistake, hold Ctrl key and press z to undo the changes.
