Keyboard
shortcuts |
Action
|
|
Copying |
Ctrl+C |
A
copy of the selected object/s is placed in the program’s
clipboard
|
|
Cutting |
Ctrl+X |
Cutting
performs the same action as copying, but the object is then
deleted
|
|
Pasting |
Ctrl+V |
The
content of the clipboard is pasted back into the document (but the
same object can be pasted several times). Places the document
where the mouse cursor hovers.
|
|
Paste
in place |
CTRL+Alt+V |
Places
the object exactly where it was copied from. A handy tool if you
want to move an object from one layer to another without changing
its position.
|
|
Duplicate |
Ctrl+D |
Creates
a copy of the selected object and places it in the same position
on the canvas. It is same as copy and paste, however the action is
not remembered in the clipboard.
|
|
Stamping |
Space |
While
an object is being dragged for transforming (move, rotate, scale,
skew), pressing ‘Space’ will leave a trail of its copies.
|
Note:
Different
softwares have different shortcuts for commands like “Paste in
Place, Duplicate and Stamping”. But commands like ”Cut, Copy and
Paste” are universal and follow same shortcuts everywhere.
