3) Importing the sprites


Importing the sprites
For the project Photo Annotation two types of images are required:
  • A group photograph
  • Individual sprite

  • Importing Group Photograph
Other than the provided sprite and the images made in paint brush ,you can use the photographs clicked by you as sprite in your scratch project. To use photograph as your sprite lets take an example of one group photograph, to do follow the following steps :
1. Select the photograph which you want to use as your sprite and place it in some folder or on desktop, here in this example it is on desktop with a name group1.
2. Now open the scratch and delete the default sprite as you have learned earlier(Refer Handout1 of Week 2). Now you will see that there is no sprite on the stage.
3. Now make a new sprite with paint new sprite.
 










  1. Paint editor window will open. Click on import. Import image window will open, giving you the facility to browse your computer.
 






 













5. Click on desktop ans then the picture you want to use as sprite and then click on OK button
.
6. Photograph will now be there in paint editor window. If you want to do some changes you can do it with the use of tools of Paint editor window you have learned earlier and then click ok.
7. Photograph will now appear in as your sprite in sprite window.
 








8. If you want, you can resize the photograph also by using the shrink sprite button(Refer Handout5 of Week 1).
9. Now the stage will appear as follows:
 















  • Adding Individual Sprite
For adding individual sprite click on choose new sprite from file option
 

Choose a relevant sprite (Refer handout 2 of Week 01). The stage will appear as:
