Saving
spreadsheets
Spreadsheet
can be saved by clicking the file
menu
and then selecting ‘save’
from the submenu.
The
keyboard shortcut to save command is
CTRL +S.
When
you create a new spreadsheet for the first time press ctrl + S or
click on the save button , a
new window opens up asking to enter the filename and the location
where to be saved . By selecting the location, enter appropriate name
and click ‘save’.
This
saves the file in ‘ods’
format by default. There are the cases when we need to transfer the
files to other user who don’t have open office in such cases we
can’t forward them the file in ods format. In such cases there is a
option of saving the spreadsheet files in other formats like PDF,
HTML, XHTML etc. To do this, click ‘save
as’
from file menu and in the window that opens, click on the drop down
list (shown in below image) that shows all the file formats.
From
the list of formats select the required format and then click save
(Note: ‘,xlsx’ will open in Microsoft office)
