Week 02 - Activity 03: Explore changes in phases of moon (Refer Handout XX)
1. Set your location:
Click location window / press F6 to change the location from Paris to New Delhi
2. Set your date and time
Click Date and time Window / press F5 to set date and time
3. Disable Ground and Atmosphere
By default the Ground and Atmosphere tools were on. By clicking respective tool from horizontal tool window you can disable them.
4. Find Moon using find function
To Locate moon Click Search window or press F3 and type moon, enter and close the window. Now moon will appear at the centre of the screen.
5. Zoom in for desired level of visibility
Press right slash (/) or use scroll wheel of the mouse to zoom in
6. Open Date & Time settings window
Click Date and Time window or Press F5 to change the date and time.
7. Change the date field
Change the Date to 1st October 2017 just clicking down arrow just below date column.
8. Observe the phases of moon on each date
Keep change the dates in date column using uparrow without making any enter and see the changes of different phases of Moon. Here a set of snapshots of consecutive dates are given to explain the phases (including new moon day and full moon day).
