Week 02- Activity 02 : Observe earth from different planets
1. Enable ground & atmosphere
The ground & atmosphere are enabled in the default view. While disabling and enabling the ground and atmosphere tools one can view the appearance of ground and atmosphere.
Step 1:
For convenience, here disabled view of ground and atmosphere is given below.

Step 2:
The ground is enabled by clicking ground tool is given below.

Step 3:
The atmosphere is enabled by clicking atmosphere tool is given below.

2. Set the location & landscape for the following
A. Moon
B. Mars and
3. Observe the earth Movement, location and size from different celestial bodies (in this case Moon and Mars)
A. Moon
Step 1:
Click Location window or press F6

Step 2:
Click down arrow of Planet option and choose Moon and from location list choose Lunar 1
Step 3:
Close the location window.

Step 4:
Click search window or press F3 and type earth
Step 5:
Enter, check whether you can see the earth.
Here you can see Earth related information at top left. However in this case earth is not seen in the screen. This may be probably earth might be behind the moon’s surface.
Step 6:
To see earth, disable ground. Now you can see earth.
Step 7:
To see the earth more closer, press right slash (/)
Here, you can observe earth within the red border.
Step 8:
To see earth’s movement increase the speed of time. Here a series of snapshots were given to show the earth’s movement with respect to time. To increase time either you can press L or use the time tool.
A. Mars
Step 1:
Click Location window or press F6. Click down arrow of Planet option and choose Mars and from location list choose Viking 1 and close the location window

Step 4:
Click search window or press F3 and type earth.
Step 5:
Enter, check whether you can see the earth.
Here you can see Earth related information at top left. However in this case earth is not seen in the screen. This may be probably earth might be behind the mars’s surface.
Step 6:
To see earth, disable ground. Now you can see earth.
Step 7:
To see the earth more closer, press right slash (/)
Step 8:
To see earth’s movement increase the speed of time. Here a series of snapshots were given to show the earth’s movement with respect to time. To increase time either you can press L or use the time tool.
