CONTACTS AND MAILING LIST
If there is a need to regularly send mass e-mails to the same group of people, creating a mailing list should simplify the process.
- Creating a New Contact
STEP 1 : Open Gmail, and click a "Gmail" button on the left.
STEP 2 : Click Contacts option.
STEP 3 : The following Google Contacts screen appears . Click on New Contact to create new contact or list of contacts.
Step 4 : Add details of new contact details in the respective columns.
Step 5 : Click on Add Button to add more details. Contact will be saved under My Contacts.
More contacts can be created by following the same steps.
Creating a New Group
Step 1: Click on down arrow on Group Icon .
Select Create New option.
Step 2: Enter Group Name in the box. For example Work
Step 3 : New Group with the name Work is created.
Creating a Mailing list
Step 1: Click on the group name under which the mailing list to be created.
Step 2 : Add new contacts to the group by following the steps of creating a new contact.
The new added contacts will appear under My Contacts and Work folder. By default all the contacts are saved under My Contacts.
Step 3 : To add existing contacts click on the My Contacts. A list of contacts appears. Select the contacts to be added to the Work group.
Step 4 : Click on down arrow on Group icon. Select Work group and click on Apply option.
Step 5 : Contacts will added to the Work group.
Sending E-mail to a Group/ Contact List
Step 1: Click on Compose option.
Step 2 : Enter a word 'work' in the "TO:" field - it will bring a 'Work group' up into the window, click on it.
All your work contacts will be automatically inserted into the "TO:" window.
Click on Send button to send the mail to the Contacts under Work Group.
