 Communication, the transfer of information, has been the key element needed to establish civilized societies, which require organization and planning. The development of superior methods of communication allow a society to advance while the advancement of a society is necessary for the development of new methods of communication. Communication technology counts for a lot nowadays as it helps us tell each other things quickly without the long delays of a letter or meeting each other.

Before phones became commonplace, people used other ways to communicate over long distances. Smoke signals involved generating puffs of smoke with a fire and a blanket from a high elevation so others could see the smoke rising into the air. Flag signals were another method of communication, with different colors and combinations of flags having different meanings when hoisted into the air. Blowing horns also communicated messages over distances. For example, troops used the bugle extensively to communicate orders to troops. Then Postal Service has evolved in huge ways with letters traveling coast-to-coast in one week or less. Until the invention of the telephone, the telegraph was the principal means of long-distance communication.
In the middle of the 20th century, computers had taken another giant leap in the field of communication. As the Internet gained popularity, communication changed drastically. Instead of using the telephone and incurring potentially high long-distance charges, suddenly, it became possible to converse with people via the Internet. Email communication became available with the development of Web-based services and Internet service providers.

Though information technology may have made communication quicker, easier, and more convenient, it has also brought along privacy issues.
There is always a delay for post to deliver the goods. If the customer is lucky, he can get the goods in 5-7 day. But usually it takes 15- 30 days to get the package. For some remote countries and regions, it even gets longer.
From cell phone signal interceptions to e-mail hacking, people are now worried about leakage of their private information.
Sometimes, the package may be returned or missing during transit. And the post company do not compensate for loss.
Cyber-bullying is a huge problem among teenagers and middle school students.
Teletypewriter messages lack the personal touch that telephone allows.

Cyber-stalking is another serious security concern. Once again, this is an issue present in kid’s lives more than adults

Electronic mail permits people to send and receive messages through a written document using the World Wide Web and their computer. This new technological advancement allowed people to converse extremely quickly. Compared to the old means of communication or the telephone, email did not have the reoccurring issue of individuals not being available at the same particular time.
