ACCESSING
AND ORGANISING MAIL
If
the emails are in large number, accessing them becomes difficult. To
make this accessing process easy, the emails can be organised into
different labels. Labels create a separate storing space for an
email. So, the emails which are related in some context can be saved
under a label.
To
create a label, follow the steps given below:
1.
On the left panel, click on the “More” button. The menu will now
expand.
2.
Under the Categories list, click on “create new
label” button.
3.
The following window will appear. Give the name to the label which is
to be created.

If the mail is open, click on the “Move to” button and select the label name in which it is to be moved.

A single mail can be dragged and dropped in to label as shown below:

If multiple mails need to be moved, select the mails and click on Move to option as shown below.

Starred - Marking the mail as starred implies that the email is of priority. there are multiple priority stars which can be set, like Golden star, blue star, green star etc.
Step
1: To mark the email, click on the star icon. The
icon will now change to a golden star.
Step
2: All the marked emails are stored in the label “Starred”.
Step
3: To unmark the starred email, click on the (golden) star button.
The button will now become transparent, which
shows that the email has been removed from priority emails.

Marked- The emails can also be marked as important.
Step
1: To mark an email as important, open that email.
Step
2: Go to “More” menu as shown below and click on “Mark on
Important”.

Save as draft-
As
the
mail is being composed, Gmail automatically
saves a draft of
it.
This option is helpful, if the mail is being drafted but can be sent
later.
Step
1: The draft email can be viewed from the “Drafts” label present
in the left panel of the window as shown below:

Archive- means that the mail is automatically process for preserving and protecting all inbound and outbound email messages.
Deleting a mail
A
mail can be Selecting delete icon, the mail can be deleted from the
inbox list.
How to Handle Malicious
(Spam) Mail
STEP
1 : Click
on “Spam”
STEP
2 :
Click on “All”
STEP
3
: By clicking on Delete forever, all the spam mails get deleted from
mail box.
Otherwise
mail can be moved into another folder as shown below.
